The Mentoring Program

The purpose of the Mentoring Program is to fulfill the legacy of John Andrew Mazie by encouraging community service to build partnerships with our youth by:

Recruiting volunteers from area companies to become Mentors to high school students to help, encourage and motivate them to dream of what they want to become and commit to do the things that will get them there.
Exposing the students to the business world and acting as success role models for them.

Getting the students to set goals and commit to work toward:

  • Improving their community environment
  • Strengthening their family ties
  • Maximizing their learning experience
  • Focusing on a productive career
Offering goal achievement incentive awards at three months, six months and one year into the program.
Upon graduation from high school, issuing scholarships to those students who have successfully completed the mentoring program.
Assisting the students in finding a job or applying to a college upon graduation.
